Решение коммерческого банка Nonghyup прекратить предоставление банковских услуг для криптовалютной биржи Coinis было незаконным и должно быть отменено, сообщает CCN. Такое решение принял Центральный районный суд по гражданским делам.
Южнокорейский банк утверждал, что основывал свое решение на руководящих принципах борьбы с отмыванием денег, выпущенным Комиссией по финансовым услугам регулирующих органов (FSC). Адвокат биржи заявил, что отказ в предоставлении услуг являлся прямым нарушением контракта, заключённого между банком и биржей.
Теперь действие банка признано незаконным. Однако такое решение Nonghyup основывалось на опасениях расследований со стороны регуляторов. В начале года коммерческие банки, предоставляющие банковские услуги для криптовалютных бирж в Южной Корее, подвергались пристальному контролю со стороны регулирующих органов. В то время это объяснялось борьбой со спекулятивной торговлей и отмыванием денег.
Однако на этой неделе председатель FSC Чой Чонгю (Choi Jong-Ku) заявил, что не существует препятствий, мешающих криптовалютным биржам получать банковские услуги. Таким образом криптовалютные биржи Южной Кореи отныне надежно защищены от произвола банковских структур.
