О своем скептицизме насчет перспективы проектов Facebook и Twitter по интеграции цифровых валют сооснователь Ethereum Виталик Бутерин заявил в интервью Bloomberg.
Бутерин считает, что планы СЕО Twitter и Square Джека Дорси по внедрению биткоина в новые сервисы могут не сработать. Причина в том, что биткоин «не обладает функциональностью», необходимой для работы с децентрализованными финансами, в отличие от Ethereum.
Дело в том, что в июле Square сообщила о запланированном запуске ориентированной на биткоин платформы децентрализованных сервисов. Со временем Джек Дорси рассказал о планах интеграции биткоина в Twitter.
Также Бутерин уверен, что цифровая валюта Diem от Facebook (бывшая Libra) не познает успеха, ведь в отношении компании существует «огромное недоверие».
Кроме того, Бутерин полагает, что биткоин не сможет заменить доллар в ближайшие годы:
«Даже при гипотетическом крахе американского доллара, я не думаю, что даже тогда биткоин сможет обеспечить ту стабильность, которая нужна бизнесу».
