Рынок демонстрирует признаки резкого роста, нельзя исключать дальнейшего увеличения цены криптовалюты. Одной из причин такого всплеска цены второй по величине криптовалюты могло стать сообщение Ethereum Foundation о выделении крупных инвестиций, направленных на развитие разработки DApps и смарт-контрактов на базе блокчейна эфириум. 
Гранты Фонда будут выделены сообществу, не получающему финансирования от продаж токенов и ICO. В рамках грантов Ethereum Foundation предлагает финансирование, технические консультации, создание сетей и платформы для совместного использования. На сегодняшний день Фонд уже финансирует 22 проекта на общую сумму 2,84 млн долларов.
Ранее соучредитель Reddit предположил, что эфириум будет стоить 15 тысяч долларов. Основатель и генеральный директор DeVere Group Найджел Грин прогнозирует рост эфириума к концу 2018 года до 2 500 долларов.
