Группа разработки финансовых мер борьбы с отмыванием денег (FATF) в конце июня начнет обсуждать обязательные правила, регулирующие криптовалютный рынок. Об этом агентству Reuters сообщил информированный источник из правительства Японии.
Это мероприятие связано с решением финансовых лидеров G20, принятым в марте, в отношении выработки норм контроля и регулирования рынка виртуальных валют. В настоящее время действуют правила, выработанные в июне 2015 года. Существующие нормативы предназначены для регистрации, лицензирования и контроля криптовалютных бирж, определяют порядок проверки личности для предотвращения отмывания денег и подозрительной торговли.
Обсуждения FATF, начинающиеся 24 июня, будут касаться того, насколько эти правила по-прежнему уместны, как их можно применять к новым биржам. Специалисты решат, каким образом работать со странами, которые ввели запрет торговли криптовалютами.
Анонимный источник из правительства сообщил, что японское правительство надеется взять на себя инициативу по вопросу регулирования криптовалютного рынка. Японские представители будут настаивать на принятии новых обязательных правил не позднее 2019 года.
