Одни из самых востребованных Torrent-клиентов — BitTorrent и µTorrent, теперь принимают оплату в криптовалюте. В частности, пользователи могут расплатиться за профессиональный пакет услуг и отключение рекламы биткоинами, Binance Coin и TRON.
Об этом сообщается в блоге проекта TRON. Отмечается, что возможность оплаты была добавлена благодаря интеграции сервиса CoinPayments.net.
«BitTorrent присоединяется к растущему списку онлайн-компаний, чьи продукты и сервисы можно оплатить с помощью TRX», — заявил основатель TRON и CEO BitTorrent Джастин Сан (Justin Sun).
В сообщении также отмечается, что профессиональная версия ПО, годовую подписку на которую можно оплатить вышеназванными криптовалютами, стоит $19,95 и включает в себя антивирус, конвертер файлов и HD-плеер.
Отметим, что стартап BitTorrent, являющийся разработчиком обоих Torrent-клиентов, был запущен в 2004 году и в июле этого года перешел под управление TRON, который рассчитывает задействовать ее децентрализованную технологию при продвижении своих собственных блокчейн-продуктов.
В сентябре сообщалось, что TRON намеревается стимулировать активность пользователей BitTorrent с помощью криптовалюты TRX. Кроме того, создатели контента смогут расплачиваться TRX с сидами, чтобы те не покидали раздачу. BitTorrent известен своей программой uTorrent, которая насчитывает более 170 млн. пользователей. В последние годы разработчики терпели убытки.
