Канадское агентство пограничной службы (CBSA) сотрудничает со вторым по величине портом Канады с целью проверки эффективности технологии блокчейн для оптимизации грузовых перевозок, сообщает CoinDesk.
Порт Монреаля и CBSA проведут испытания платформы TradeLens, разработанной IBM и датской судоходной компанией AP Moller-Maersk Group. Проект позволит сократить объем документов, связанных с транспортировкой товаров.
Проект, запущенный в августе этого года, направлен на модернизацию судоходной отрасли путем оцифровки бумажного документооборота при оформлении и выставлении счетов, а также отслеживании контейнеров. Ожидается, что коммерческое использование платформы начнется к концу 2018 года.
Главным результатом использования технологии блокчейн станет сокращение времени транзита грузов в Соединенные Штаты на 40%, что значительно сократит накладные расходы.
Агентство CBSA присоединилось к проекту, в котором уже задействовано 90 организаций и таможенных служб таких стран, как Австралия, Нидерланды и порты Сингапура и Роттердама.
