Первый арабский банк Kuwait Finance House (KFH) присоединился к сети RippleNet, корпоративной блокчейн сети Ripple, для осуществления международных платежей, сообщается в официальном пресс-релизе банка. RippleNet — глобальная блокчейн-сеть, аналогичная SWIFT, в которой задействовано более 100 финансовых учреждений, включая банки, платежные платформы, операторов денежных переводов и другие финансовые учреждения. Главной задачей сети является осуществление расчетов в режиме реального времени для международных операций.
В пресс-релизе KFH отмечается, что использование «уникального инструмента» RippleNet поможет обеспечить мгновенные и безопасные трансграничные денежные переводы в течение нескольких секунд «…со сквозным контролем по пути оплаты».
Банк заявляет, что для запуска службы с поддержкой Ripple потребуется одобрение Центрального банка Кувейта (CBK). После получения соответствующих разрешений банк будет использовать Ripple xCurrent — корпоративное программное обеспечение на основе технологии блокчейн. Это позволит осуществлять расчеты в fiat токенах криптовалюты Ripple (XRP) для платежей в реальном времени при проведении международных транзакций.
Напомним, консорциум японских банков завершил пилотное тестирование технологии Ripple Blockchain и облачной платформы RC Cloud. Платформа позволила банкам существенно снизить стоимость международных платежей. При этом все финансовые операции проводились в режиме реального времени.
