Житель США провел небольшое експеримент с майнинг установкой. Саймон Берн собрал небольшую майнинг-ферму из шести видеокарт Nvidia RTX 3080 в багажнике гибридного спорткара BMW i8, пишет HardwareTimes.
Как говорит сам Берн, мотивацией для такого эксперимента было желание позлить геймеров.
Система для майнинга имеет плату ASUS B250 Mining Expert и блок питания EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2.
Берн также объяснил, что установка получает энергию от аккумулятора автомобиля, к которому подключается с помощью инвертора постоянного тока.
У BMW i8 мощность аккумулятора — 3500 Вт, а майнинг-установка потребляет 1500 Вт. Для постоянного охлаждения фермы, необходимо держать багажник открытым.
Стоимость BMW i8 порядка $147 500. Немалая инвестиция в майнинг. По словам Саймона Берна, для него это отличный способ зарабатывать деньги даже во время путешествий.
