В пояснении причин выбора этой локации, команда XRP Ledger Foundation сообщила, что их сразу несколько. Наиболее значимыми в организации назвали:
- инновационность страны;
- продвинутость в том, что касается подписания документов — полностью в цифровом формате;
- возможность электронного гражданства;
- один из членов правления проживает в стране.

Также вскоре будут раскрыты и подробности работы офиса в Таллине. Но на данном этапе офис ожидает приезда разработчиков.
Напомним, что о создании независимой организации с целью стимулирования внедрения и развития XRP Ledger было объявлено в сентябре 2020 года. Первичное финансирование ее работы провели Ripple, Coil и Gatehub в размере $6,5 млн.
Ранее власти Эстонии отозвали лицензии более чем у 1000 криптовалютных компаний. А со временем Минфин выдал законопроект, ужесточающий правила для индустрии.
