На страницах своего официального блога, компания Nvidia сообщила, что планирует значительно ограничить возможности использования в майнинге видеокарт GeForce RTX 3060, старт выпуска которых запланирован на 25 февраля.
«Программные драйверы RTX 3060 созданы таким образом, чтобы при обнаружении специфических атрибутов алгоритма майнинга для Ethereum, происходило ограничение хешрейта на 50%, от чего и зависит эффективность добычи криптовалют», — написали представители Nvidia.
Данные ограничительные меры были приняты компанией с целью, «чтобы графические процессоры GeForce оказались в руках геймеров», — сообщают в компании.
А для удовлетворения спроса со стороны майнеров, Nvidia анонсировала линейку чипов NVIDIA CMP (Cryptocurrency Mining Processor) для профессионального майнинга.
