За два последних года один из ранних майнеров, чьё имя неизвестно, продал 30 тысяч принадлежащих ему монет. Об этом сообщил криптовалютный аналитик Антуан де Кальвес.
Монеты были добыты в одном из ранних блоков биткоина. Их продавали в период с декабря 2016 по январь 2018 года партиями на различных биржах. При сегодняшней средней цене основной криптовалюты 30 000 ВТС стоят более $197 млн.
Кальвес считает, что майнер начал работать не позднее декабря 2009 года, когда биткоин стоил несколько центов. Он добывал основную криптовалюту несколько месяцев. Тогда награда за добытый блок была высокой, а майнить можно было и дома.

Ранее компания Diar провела исследование, посвящённое основной криптовалюте. Оно показало, что 55% биткоинов хранятся на кошельках с остатком более 200 ВТС. 1/3 из них не фигурировала в исходящих транзакциях. По мнению исследователей, это говорит о потере личных ключей или о вере в светлое будущее основной криптовалюты.
42% владельцев кошельков не продавали активы в период пиковых значений цены биткоина, 27% увеличили их количество.
