В интервью сайту Cheddar Сэндлер выступила в защиту противоречивой покупки биржей аналитической блокчейн-фирмы Neutrino и сделала сенсационное заявление о бывшем партнере Coinbase.
Напомним, что Coinbase объявила о покупке итальянского стартапа 19 февраля. Причиной, по словам представителей криптобиржи, стала необходимость предотвращения незаконной деятельности, связанной с аккаунтами биржи.
Однако сделка привлекла большое внимание и негативное отношение, поскольку создатели Neutrino были непосредственно связаны с Hacking Team – противоречивой софтовой компанией, чье шпионское ПО якобы много раз использовалось различными правительствами и правоохранительными органами. В социальных сетях даже был запущен хэштэг #DeleteCoinbase.
Покупка была вынужденной
Подчеркнув важность приобретения Neutrino, Сэндлер заявила: «Мы осведомлены об опыте некоторых ребят из этой компании. Причиной этой вынужденной покупки был тот факт, что у Neutrino есть самая лучшая технология».
«Для нас было важно уйти от наших бывших провайдеров. Они продавали конфиденциальную информацию наших пользователей внешним источникам, и мы должны были взять это под контроль, используя технологию защиты данных и наших клиентов», – добавила Кристин.
