Сербия экстрадировала в Соединенные Штаты своего гражданина, обвиняемого в обмане инвесторов на сумму более $70 млн. Об этом сообщила прокуратура северного округа Техас.
В июле 2020 года власти Сербии арестовали 32-летнего Антоние Стоилковича в Белграде по запросу правоохранителей США.
Причина задержания — мошенничество и отмывание денег. По заявлениям прокуратуры, мошенник выманил у потерпевших десятки миллионов долларов. Работал он в сговоре с другими мошенниками.
Для обмана были созданы порядка 20 фейковых площадок для инвестирования в бинарные опционы и майнинг биткоина, обещая среднюю прибыль на сделку до 80%.
Для таких поддельных компаний, как Options Rider, Bancde Options, Start Options, Dragon Mining, BTC Mining Factor и Trinity Mining, мошенники даже создали ложные профили руководства с именами и фотографиями, в основном женскими.
«Махинация на $70 млн охватила несколько континентов и была нацелена на американских граждан и на иностранцев», — сообщил исполняющий обязанности прокурора США Прерак Шах.
Некоторых сообщников Стоилковича задержала полиция Сербии в ходе июльской операции, одного арестовали в октябре в Калифорнии. Если суд признает их виновными, им грозит до 20 лет лишения свободы.
