Платформа работает на тестовой сети для разработчиков Futurenet. Старт платформы смарт-контрактов в основной сети ожидается в первой половине 2023 года.
Томер Веллер, вице-президент по технологической стратегии в Stellar Development Foundation, говорит, что платформа планирует предлагать комиссии за смарт-контракты ниже, чем у их конкурентов, за счет упрощения транзакций и использования сравнительно более низких уровней вычислительной мощности для их обработки.
Команда платформы Soroban обратилась к разработчикам с призывом поработать над службой смарт-контрактов, написанной на Rust. По словам Веллера, хотя платформа пройдет через несколько тестовых сетей, прежде чем будет запущена в начале 2023 года, она уже была разработана с учетом простоты использования.
По словам вице-президента SDF по стратегии Томера Веллера, Soroban позволит решить присущие смарт-контрактам других сетей проблемы вроде сложностей с реализацией и дороговизной.
