Финансист уверен, что в Швейцарии есть много сторонников для выпуска цифрового аналога швейцарского франка.

В интервью для Financial Times Лачер отметил, что его организация будет всячески способствовать инициативе по введению цифрового франка.
«Электронный франк, контролируемый центральным банком Швейцарии, создаст множество возможностей для позитивного развития экономики», – отметил Ромео Лачер.
При этом финансист добавил, что сам он «не любит наличные деньги».
Банки против е-франка
Швейцарское правительство всячески способствует развитию рынка криптовалюты и технологий блокчейн. Однако банки Швейцарии продолжают с недоверием относиться к новым финансовым инструментам и особенно к биткоину. Отвечая на замечание Лачера, представитель Швейцарского национального банка (SNB) отметил, что в настоящее время нет необходимости в электронном франке.
В январе на Всемирном экономическом форуме в Давосе глава SNB Томас Джордан (Thomas Jordan) советовал принять законы, регулирующие криптовалютный рынок. При этом банкир настаивал на жестком регулировании, аналогичном контролю над традиционными валютами:
«Не логично с одной стороны контролировать наличные деньги, а с другой абсолютно не влиять на анонимные финансовые инструмент, при помощи которых можно совершать любые транзакции».
Несмотря на острые противоречия между финансовыми лидерами, Швейцария остается основным бизнес-инкубатором Европы для ICO, и вероятность введения национальной криптовалюты в стране достаточно велика.
