Местный регулятор предложил объединить биткоин и альткоины в одну категорию и назвать её «криптоактивы».
Агентство финансовых услуг Японии (FSA) полагает, что это необходимо для определения понятия «виртуальные деньги» и предотвращения возможных проблем у инвесторов из-за недопонимания. Оно может возникнуть во время классификации активов и причисления их к законным платежным средствам.
В эту пятницу консультативная группа FSA представила отчет. В нём утверждается, что термин «виртуальная валюта» трактуется двояко.
В ближайшее время будут пересмотрены законы и нормативные акты
Среди них и Закон о платежных услугах, в котором описано использование виртуальных валют. FSA хочет привлечь японские компании к обсуждению.
Регулятор планирует убедить их в целесообразности использования термина «криптоактивы». Консультативная группа FSA отметила, что следует выработать механизм, который защитит пользователей в случае оттока средств.
В 2017 году были внесены поправки в Закон о платёжных услугах. Правительство Японии разрешило использовать их как платёжное средство.
В этом же документе криптовалюты признаны имуществом. Его можно использовать для того, чтобы покупать услуги и товары. При этом законным платёжным средством виртуальные валюты не признавались.
