Европейский союз утвердил новые правила противодействия отмыванию денег. В новом положении отдельно упоминается борьба с анонимностью рынка криптовалюты для облегчения доступа к информации о фактических владельцах цифровых активов.
Двадцать восемь стран Европейского Союза официально ратифицировали новое законодательство, которое Европейский парламент утвердил в прошлом месяце. Новые правила будут опубликованы в Официальном вестнике ЕС, а странам будет предоставлено 18 месяцев для интеграции их в национальные законодательства.
Принятое законодательство обязывает торговые платформы и провайдеров, предлагающих услуги электронного кошелька, применять меры надлежащей проверки. Эти меры аналогичны требованиям банков, которые предъявляются при проверке клиентов.
Платформы и провайдеры также должны пройти государственную регистрацию. В случае использования предоплаченных карт сумма, при которой должны быть идентифицированы владельцы, уменьшается с 250 до 150 евро. В новых правилах особо указывается на защиту лиц, предоставивших информацию об отмывании денег, в частности, им гарантируется полная анонимность.
