Платформа Bakkt сообщила о завершении слияния со SPAC VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings. 18 октября ее акции будут доступны на Нью-Йоркской фондовой бирже (NYSE) под тикером BKKT.
«Закрытие сделки по объединению бизнеса дает нам необходимый капитал, чтобы продолжать заниматься тем, что мы делаем лучше всего, — инновациями. […] Мы по-прежнему сосредоточены на создании более широкой партнерской экосистемы, а также расширении перечня цифровых активов, которые предлагаем клиентам», — заявил генеральный директор Bakkt Гэвин Майкл.
На внеочередном собрании 14 октября акционеры VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings одобрили слияние с Bakkt. Позитивно проголосовали около 85% команды.
Валовая выручка от сделки составила около $448 млн. Эти деньги будут направлены на дальнейшее развитие платформы и маркетинговые усилия. Стоимость объединенной компании оценивается в $2,1 млрд.
Еще в январе 2021 года Bakkt анонсировала слияние со SPAC. В рамках инициативы платформа назначила на должность CEO Майкла, который ранее занимал пост технического директора потребительского подразделения Citibank:
