Данные о деятельности северокорейских спецслужб и государственных финансовых учреждений проанализировали Лурдес Миранда (Lourdes Miranda), следователь по финансовым преступлениям, и Росс Делстон (Ross Delston), эксперт по борьбе с отмыванием денег и борьбе с финансированием терроризма. По утверждению специалистов, Пхеньян работает над созданием собственной цифровой валюты. Кроме того Северная Корея применяет популярные виртуальные валюты, такие как биткоин, для смягчения международных финансовых санкций.
«Криптовалюты используются международными преступниками для финансирования терроризма, и Северная Корея не является исключением», – заявили представители финансовой разведки США.
При этом КНДР использует криптовалютные биржи и международные финансовые организации, имеющие банковские связи с Соединёнными Штатами. По данным финансовых спецслужб, Северная Корея зарабатывает на операциях с виртуальными активами от 15 до 200 миллионов долларов.
«Наличие собственной криптовалюты также облегчило бы им возможность открывать онлайн-счета, используя анонимный характер активов. Таким образом они смогут скрыть истинное местоположение пользователя», – заявили Миранда и Делстон.
Напомним, российский парламентарий Владимир Гутенев заявил, что РФ сможет обойти санкции США, разрешив российским и международным предпринимателям принимать платежи в криптовалютах.
