Блокчейн стартап Steemit увольняет около 70% сотрудников, ссылаясь на длительный медвежий цикл на криптовалютном рынке, сообщает CoinDesk. Сегодня на YouTube размещен ролик, в котором генеральный директор и основатель Steemit Нед Скотт (Ned Scott) заявляет:
«Пока создавалась команда проекта, мы полагались на прогнозы, предполагающие достижение рынком более высокого уровня. Поскольку этого больше нет, мы вынуждены уволить более 70 процентов сотрудников нашей организации и начать реструктуризацию».
В послании не указывается, сколько сотрудников Steemit было до увольнения. Скотт написал в блоге, что возврат средств в фиат уже не может покрывать «…растущие затраты на запуск полных узлов Steem».
Steemit — это платформа для социальных сетей, которая использует технологию блокчейн для награждения издателей и авторов контента с помощью токенов STEEM. Проект начат в марте 2016 года и был среди лидеров рынка блокчейн стартапов с рыночной капитализацией 157 млн долларов. В настоящее время капитализация криптовалюты STEEM, по данным CoinMarketCap, составляет 113 млн, и монета занимает 48 место.
