Он заявил, что является представителем Bitcoin Voluntary Associations и полной биткоин-ноды. Кроме этого, Похоул признал вину сети криптовалюты, которая должна жертвам $13,8 млн.
Адвокаты траста намерены взыскать убытки с майнеров и операторов нод.
По их мнению, биткоин является ассоциацией, которая управляется. Поэтому ответственность должны нести все, кто управляет сетью и получает комиссии за транзакции.
Отметим, что представителем траста жертв является житель Нью-Йорка Кристофер Эрл Струнк. Ранее он привлекался к ответственности за злоупотребление подачей судебного иска.
В 2013 году Струнк был оштрафован на $177 тысяч за попытку исключить Барака Обаму из президентских выборов на основе сомнений в месте рождения кандидата. Поданный им иск судья назвал надуманным, иррациональным и бредовым.
Адвокаты истца не отрицают, что Похоул и Струнк знакомы. Это создает конфликт интересов. Fortune полагает, что любая попытка получить по решению суда средства с майнеров или кого-то еще в Нью-Йорке и других юрисдикциях неизбежно будет легко отражена в ходе судебных разбирательств.
